The Castle Hotel Windsor is delighted to announce the launch of its new à la carte and all-day dining menus at Leaf Restaurant, available from this week, Wednesday 25th September. Curated by the hotel’s Executive Head Chef, Suraj Lokhande, the new menus celebrate seasonal British produce and local ingredients with a wide range of modern and exciting dishes.

The à la carte menu offers a carefully curated selection of starters, mains, and desserts, designed to take diners on a memorable culinary journey. Guests can indulge in exquisite dishes, each thoughtfully paired with the perfect wine accompaniment. Highlights include the Pan-seared scallops served with curried cauliflower purée, crispy pancetta, and a mixed herb emulsion, beautifully paired with a crisp Raimat Chardonnay from Spain. Another highlight is the Duck and Orange Pâté, accompanied by spiced autumn chutney and toasted brioche, complemented perfectly by an Élevé Pinot Noir from France.

The main courses are equally enticing, featuring seasonal ingredients in an array of dishes. The baked cod loin, served with crushed Jersey Royal potatoes, bok choi, and a basil and coconut sauce, is a fresh and flavourful option, especially when paired with a crisp Da Luca Pinot Grigio from Italy. For vegetarians and vegans, the Thai vegetable curry with tofu served with steamed rice and a lentil crisp is a vibrant and flavoursome dish.

Another highlight of the new menu is the signature Game Pie, made with venison sourced from the Benham Estate, the farm owned by the Sutton Hotel Collections parent company SRSL, demonstrating a true farm to-table approach and reflecting the restaurant’s commitment to sustainability and the finest regional ingredients.

For those craving something from the grill, the menu boasts a variety of premium options including Chateaubriand, grilled whole lobster, and a tempting surf and turf featuring half a lobster with a 4oz sirloin steak. Diners can also opt for grilled sirloin or fillet steak, or a succulent half-roast chicken, each prepared to perfection. All are accompanied by sautéed garlic and thyme field mushrooms, on-the-vine cherry tomatoes, and the old favourite, chunky chips.

Executive Head Chef Suraj Lokhande comments: “We are thrilled to introduce these new menus at Leaf to focus on seasonal, locally sourced and British ingredients. Together with my team, the menus have been crafted with care to offer something for everyone, whether diners are meat lovers, seafood enthusiasts, or seeking fresh vegan and vegetarian options. We believe these menus will enhance the dining experience at Leaf, bringing modern, exciting flavours to the heart of Windsor

Dessert lovers will be spoilt for choice with a selection of six brand-new indulgent options. The dark chocolate citrus cake, paired with a rich chocolate sauce and raspberry sorbet, is a particular favourite whereas, for those looking for a lighter finish, the elderflower and vanilla crème brûlée provide a delicate balance of flavours.

For a more relaxed culinary experience, Leaf’s all-day dining menu offers a selection of build-your-own salads, fresh sandwiches, and small bites. The signature Leaf Salad features tricolour quinoa, broccoli, avocado, beetroot, blueberries, while the “From the Earth” options include hickory pork ribs, slow-cooked venison bon bons with spiced cranberry and apple sauce, and grilled baby chorizo in red wine jus. Leaf’s new sandwiches, all accompanied with skin-on fries, a mixed leaf salad and served on either white or brown bloomer, include options such as the classic steak baguette, the traditional BLT and a Vegan Club, which includes grilled tofu and hummus. Other items on the all-day dining menu feature more heartier dishes such as the fully loaded Castle burger, plant-based burger, and spinach and ricotta cannelloni.

Sam Goss, General Manager of The Castle Hotel, states: “Now more than ever, visitors are set to seek out immersive stays and prioritise cultural and food & drinks experience. We are so pleased to be able to meet these needs, with the welcome of both the a la carte menu and the all-day menu, and further establish our commitment to sustainability and sourcing the finest regional ingredients. We look forward to welcoming guests to Leaf to experience these new menus next week!

The Castle Hotel Windsor’s beloved Royal Afternoon Tea also returns next week, now featuring new savoury and sweet treats. Guests can enjoy Wiltshire ham and mustard mayonnaise brioche buns or grilled pepper and hummus sandwiches alongside freshly baked scones alongside elderflower and vanilla crème brûlée, matcha shortbread, and the classic tiramisu with ladyfinger cookies. A dedicated children’s menu ensures younger diners can indulge in mini burgers, mini brownies, and even their own specialty afternoon tea.
