Celebrate Jane Austen

This September, The Jane Austen Festival, the largest Jane Austen Festival in the world, returns from 13th – 22nd September with ten days of events to celebrate all things Jane Austen. The impressive Regency Costumed Promenade launches the festival and is a sight not to be missed with the streets of Bath filled with hundreds of people in Regency dress. Explore Bath by foot

Bath has so many picturesque walks, from taking in the stunning Georgian architecture in the city centre and following in Jane Austen’s footsteps to further afield taking in Bath’s most iconic viewpoints on the Bath Skyline walk. Bath’s unique landscape is celebrated annually with Bathscape Walking Festival running from 7th – 22nd September. During this time, you can join in a number of free guided walks and talks that let you discover more about Bath. If you are looking for the best views of the city, head to Bath Abbey and climb the 212 steps to the very top of the tower for stunning panoramic views. An impressive sight in its own right, the Gothic church is known for its beautiful stained-glass windows and fan-vaulted ceiling. Do not forget to visit The Roman Baths – they are the city’s most famous attraction, showcasing well-preserved ruins of one of the greatest religious spas of the ancient world.
