Our Story

In 2017, we were incredibly proud to acquire The Francis Hotel Bath and The Castle Hotel Windsor.

2020 was an integral year for our dining facilities, we opened Boho Marché at The Francis Hotel, whilst tackling the ever changing rules and regulations around Covid-19. Throughout the pandemic, we also significantly improved our outdoor dining experiences and opened Boho Marché’s beautiful terraces.

2021 was a great year for The Castle Hotel Windsor – we were proud to open The Castle’s botanical in-house restaurant, Leaf, as well as launching our signature afternoon tea which has been further refined in 2023 and relaunched as the Royal Afternoon Tea.

2022 was the year of Sutton Hotel Collection. Named in tribute of owner and founder, the late Sir Richard Sutton – this new chapter marked a move towards creating a very special and unique new hospitality brand with aspirations to offer the best of British quality and service.

As we welcome in a new year, we are so excited to begin large refurbishments on The Castle Hotel – it is a true testament to the hard work of the team that this success has translated into a sizable investment back into the hotel and into the Windsor community.

Steeped in history, The Francis Hotel is one of the finest and first examples of Georgian architecture in Bath and is about to undergo a remarkable revival. Starting this July, a multi-million pound investment will transform the hotel with 98 new bedrooms, new brasserie restaurant, new bar, new outdoor terrace, and state-of-the-art spa. As part of the reimagined project at The Francis Hotel, Emberwood brassiere launched in May. Inspired by the warmth of the open hearth, Emberwood brings together seasonal ingredients, local provenance, and a passion for honest cooking. It is sure to light the fire in the restaurant scene in Bath.
