We know your four-legged friends are a cherished part of the family and our dog-friendly bedrooms mean they can join you on a getaway too. You can bring up to two well-trained dogs from £30 per night in selected bedrooms across our hotels.

We leave no paw unturned to ensure your pet pooch will be just as comfortable as you are during your stay with us. We have found the best local bars and cafés where dogs are welcome and have dog walking maps all ready for you to explore either local or more further afield. Rufus even gets a treat a on us too – bowls, dog beds and treats will be waiting in your room.

Terms and conditions

Up to two well-behaved dogs are allowed in your bedroom. At the Francis Hotel and The Athenaeum Hotel dogs can stay in all bedroom types. At the Castle Hotel dogs can stay in Mews Generous and Mews Suite rooms only. The cost is £30 per night at the Francis and Castle Hotel, and £35 per night at The Athenaeum. This is chargeable on arrival. A welcome gift for your pet will be waiting in your room. The welcome gift is non-refundable and non-transferable. At all our hotels dogs are welcome in the lobby. At the Castle Hotel your dog can also be in Penningtons bar or the garden outside. At the Francis Hotel, dogs are also welcome in the lounge. At The Athenaeum Hotel dogs are welcome in the lobby or on the terrace outside. Sorry, but we do not allow dogs in our restaurants Penningtons, Emberwood or 116.
